My son once removed over half the keys from my husband's work laptop (he was two or three at the time)(my son, not my husband). Putting the keys back took FOREVER. We learned our lesson about keeping the computer well out of reach!
One of my parent's cats threw up on the keyboard of their computer once (back in the early 80s) - needless to say, all the keys were still there, but the 'w' key never worked again and we had to hit the space bar a few times and write in all the 'w's after the page was printed out.
